Rigging the legs process

To start with the file with the pre-made legs were uploaded onto Maya. Using the Animation function. Switch the view from world to front view, to avoid the joints lying on the floor in world.
Once done, the joints for the legs were then placed in their respective areas; using the joint tool in the animation tool bar, selecting the hips, knees, ankles, balls and toes.
Connecting the two legs is essiantially the same process as making joints. Using the same joint tool add the pelvis joint in between the hips, slightly elevated above the hip joints, then add a joint above that, a little bit above the mesh of the legs. To connect the legs select the hip joint, then holding shift select the pelvis joint, finally press 'p' to parent the two together, do the same with the other leg, which should finish off connecting the two legs together.
Using the IK handle tool, select the hip joint and then the ankle joint, this should then have a line connecting the two. This allows for natural movement for the leg with out having to move every joint individually.
